Text Messaging for bus Routes

Syracuse, NY — Centro has announced a new system to notify customers by text message or email of significant service interruptions, deviations or changes in bus routes.

“This will allow us to communicate to our customers instantaneously, even if they are waiting at a bus stop,” said Steven Koegel, Centro’s director of marketing and communications.


It will allow the bus service to alert Syracuse customers when their bus is placed on a snow route due to bad weather, he said in a news release.

Centro is currently operating on snow routes.

The new system allows riders to select specific bus routes and a specific time they’d like to receive the updates.
