Usage of Microsoft’s Bing search engine continues to slowly cut into Google’s commanding market share, according to panel-based web analytics firm Experian Hitwise, with Bing receiving 27.44% of web searches in Jan. when combined with partner Yahoo (up 6%), compared to 67.95% for Google (a decline of 2% from Dec. 2010.) Hitwise says Bing and Yahoo! Search achieved the highest success rates in Jan. – more than 81% of searches executed by Bing or Yahoo resulted in a visit to a website, compare to a success rate of 65%.
